Pathways of Hope Sewing
Work Program is a stepping-stone to
help clients break out of their cycle of poverty and also endeavors to help
those who are simply having a circumstantial difficult time in their
lives. Clients earn money for their
families by sewing items for our business customers, while benefiting from
instruction and support in our Christian environment.
o Are mentored as they work with their Volunteer Sewing Coaches
o Attend weekly support meetings facilitated by an experienced Volunteer Counselor
o Learn new life skills
o Learn work ethics
· Clients take beginning or advanced sewing lessons, which are offered on a one-on-one basis or in a group setting, where they can.
sew at our facility on a daily basis, enjoy the company of others and receive daily devotionals and in-depth life-skill mentoring
· Students create various costumes for “Business of Hope”, Dallas Vintage. http://dallasvintageshop.com/
· Students sew religious banners for “Business of Hope”, Reasons for Hope, whose products are shown at the World Market in Dallas, Texas.
Our Pathways of Hope Program recently moved to a new facility and at present has 14 sewing machines, a Serger, new donated office and work furniture.
We welcome any one who would like to volunteer in this program.
