GROOM/E/S GENEALOGY

GENERATION 1: Elijah Groom I (1757-1804 NC) and Catherine 'Catey' Herring (~1760-1814 GA)
Most Groom researchers believe that Elijah Groom is the same person as Elijah Croom, who served in the State Militia of North Carolina. Elijah married Catherine 'Caty' Herring (daughter/of Stephen Herring and Sarah Bright) in North Carolina in 1776. Between 1790 and 1800, Elijah and 'Catey' Croom/Groom moved to Georgia.
